Seminar Abstract: 

The gyroscopes have wide applications in navigationsystems ,aerospace ,military,consumer electronics and medical applications.The GPS system, missile launching, helicopter navigation, camcoder imagestabilization etc ,all use gyroscope.
The proposed sensor is a dual mass type, electro-statically driven to primary mode oscillation and senses, capacitively, the output signal. Full decoupling be-tween drive and sense modes minimizes the mechanical crosstalk. The dualmass gyroscope is designed such that driven and sense resonant frequencyis 23101 Hz with 0% mismatch. The gyroscope when actuated with 25Vac and 10v dc showed sensing capacitance of 126AF for 1 rad/s. To thedesign of the gyroscope a new semi automatic tool was formulated for thenoise analysis and noise based optimization of the gyroscope design and theanalysis estimation shows that there is a trade off between the S/N ratio andthe sensitivity and for the given design could be made much better in-termsof S/N by tuning its resonant frequency to 106Hz.
